I was watching a movie tonight about the Bible. Part of the movie focused on Abraham and the time that G-d asked him to sacrifice his only son Gen. 22:2. He had already given up is first-born Ishmael Gen 21:14. I pondered the thought of G-d asking me to sacrifice (kill) my own child. I love the L-rd and serve him with all that I am. I cannot say with confidence that I would be able to do what Abraham did. I desire to fear the L-rd at that level. Nor do I believe my faith or trust in the L-rd is even close to Abraham trusted G-d to fulfill His promise to him Gen 15:5. I desire to have that level of faith. We may never be required of G-d to give up our only son as Abraham was asked to do.
G-ds response to Abraham was so merciful Gen 22:8-12. Because of one man’s simple obedience to G-d we are all blessed Gen 22:15-18.
How are we blessed we are blessed with Yeshua (Jesus) Matt 1:1-17. Every Christmas people around the world All Nations, celebrate His birth. Why do we celebrate His birth?
John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Abraham did not have the same promise as we do and yet he feared the L-rd and obeyed G-d. Abraham’s obedience changed our lives. Yeshua’s Obedience changed our lives. He willingly went to the cross to die because His Father in Heaven desired it of Him. Abraham was willingly going to lay His only son on the Alter and sacrifice (kill) him because G-d desired it of Him.
Are you a servant of the most High G-d the G-d of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob?
What has G-d desired of you to lay on the Alter to sacrifice to Him? Do you FEAR the L-rd enough to obey? Do you trust Him with everything?
I have asked these Questions of myself and I have come up short.
I ask that you search your heart and ask the same questions. He says if you love me, you will obey me. Obviously Abraham Loved G-d!
John 14:15
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
The final question is: WHO’S LIFE WILL YOU CHANGE BY YOUR OBEDIENCE TO THE L-RD?
